Areas of Specialisation
Dr Rigano anaesthetises patients across a wide variety of specialties, with specific interests in orthopaedics, ENT, general surgery, plastics, and upper GI surgery. He has a passion for delivering regional techniques to minimise patient discomfort and assisting with rapid recovery after surgery.

Professional Experience
Dr Rigano undertook his medical training in Australia, spending his registrar years based in Queensland and New South Wales. He completed his fellowship year at Logan Hospital.

James continues to be based at Logan Hospital for his public work as an anaesthetic specialist, as well as working interstate at several locum hospitals. His private practice takes him to a number of hospitals around Brisbane.

James has a caring, empathetic attitude to patients that is also extended to colleagues. This has been recognised at Logan hospital where he is one of the department welfare officers. He is also the Medical and Resident Clinical Co-ordinator at Logan, fostering the interests and careers of our future anaesthetists.

Other Interests
Outside of theatre, James enjoys spending time with family, sailing, fishing and hiking.
