Dr Ormston regularly cares for patients undergoing obstetrics, major orthopaedic, and general surgical procedures. 

Professional Experience
Dr Ormston undertook his medical training in the United Kingdom, receiving his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of London in 2005. He then moved to Australia in 2007. 

Dominic’s anaesthetic training was completed between 2011 and 2015 across hospitals in Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria. His fellowship was undertaken at the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital and Mater Hospitals Brisbane, in clinical anaesthesia and simulation. 

Dominic currently holds a public appointment at Mater Hospital Brisbane. His private practice is predominantly based out of St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital, Northwest Private Hospital, and Mater Private Hospitals, and is mainly focused on general surgery, orthopaedics and obstetrics. 

Dominic has a specific interest in anaesthetic management techniques that reduce post operative nausea and promote early mobilisation and discharge home. 

Other Interests
Outside of work, Dominic’s primary focus is spending time with his wife and children, including his Maltese Terrier which he dubs ‘the easy child’. He is also a keen cyclist.
