Dr Rebecca McBride

Areas of Specialisation
Dr McBride’s primary focus is adult and obstetric anaesthesia and perioperative medicine. She has a patient-centred approach to provide excellent care to medically complex, high risk surgical patients.
Professional Experience
Dr McBride studied at University of Queensland, completing first a Bachelor of Science in 2002 then Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery in 2006. She completed her medical training in various public hospitals across Brisbane.
In 2010 Rebecca moved into anaesthesia, working as a registrar both in Brisbane, and regionally at Hervey Bay Hospital and Bundaberg Hospital. This culminated in her fellowship year at Princess Alexandra Hospital in 2014, with an interest area of shared airways.
Since then Rebecca has been working at Princess Alexandra Hospital, where she currently works part time. Her private practice is at Greenslopes Private Hospital with a focus on obstetrics and gynaecology.
Rebecca is also a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland.
In 2020 Rebecca gained her Master of Medicine (Perioperative Medicine) from Monash University in Melbourne.
Other Interests
When not working, Rebecca is a keen ballroom dancer and baker.
