Areas of Specialisation
Dr Morton provides anaesthesia services for a wide range of adult and paediatric surgeries, with a subspeciality interest in nerve blocks for anaesthesia and acute pain management. 

Professional Experience
Dr Morton studied at the University of Queensland, completing his Bachelor of Science in 2007, followed by his medical degree (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery) in 2011.

He worked as a junior doctor at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for three years, including speciality training as a registrar in Intensive Care Medicine.

Fraser then completed his speciality training in Anaesthesia between 2015 and 2019 at various hospitals across Queensland. During this time he did additional study with a Graduate Certificate in Critical Care at the University of Sydney. This culminated in his fellowship in regional anaesthesia and acute pain management, completed at the Gold Coast University Hospital in 2020.

Fraser returned to Brisbane and was appointed as a Staff Specialist Anaesthetist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in 2021, where he is the clinical lead specialist for regional anaesthesia, and a member of the quality and safety committee.

Fraser’s highest priority as an anaesthetist is being able to provide relief to patients in pain or distress. He also has an interest in research and innovation, currently leading a research project utilising gastric ultrasound, and has developed a novel non-invasive airways device. 

Dr Morton works in private practice at several hospitals in Brisbane, where he works with regular surgeons across specialities including maxillofacial and urological surgery.

Other Interests
Outside of work, Fraser likes to spend time outdoors with his family. He is a keen skier wakeboarder and enjoys hiking.
