Areas of Specialisation
Dr Kelly regularly cares for patients undergoing major Orthopaedic procedures and cancer surgeries, including breast, bowel, kidney, prostate and gynaecological cancers. He has a particular interest in enhanced recovery pathways, including regional anaesthesia to promote patient comfort and a smoother and faster recovery back to health.

Professional Experience
Mitchell graduated from the University of Queensland medical school in 2013, where he received several academic awards for excellence in paediatric health. His anaesthesia training was undertaken across South East Queensland, obtaining his fellowship in 2023 with specific focus in regional anaesthesia.

Mitchell has undertaken further specialist training in Perioperative Medicine to enhance the comprehensive care he provides to his patients. He currently serves as a supervisor for other medical specialists participating in educational activities with the ANZCA Chapter of Perioperative Medicine, and is a Senior Lecturer associated with the University of Queensland.

Alongside his work in the operating theatre, he conducts clinical research focused on surgical prehabilitation, aiming to improve peoples fitness prior to surgery and hasten their postoperative recovery.

His private practice is currently based at Greenslopes Private Hospital and Mater Hospitals.

Other Interests
Outside of work, Mitch enjoys family trips to Hervey Bay, expanding his backyard edible forest, and staying fit to keep up with his toddler and Aussie Shepherd.
